Another week has gone by and we are slowly chipping away at getting this guy ready for release. This last week was mostly spent painting weights on the geo and tweaking the muscle settings to try to get the best deformations we could. We are almost finished with it and the results so far are looking pretty great!

Is that a muscle system, you ask? Well, yes and no. Victor, our Senior Rigger here at CG Breakdown, has developed a new way to simulate muscles in our rigs. It combines the jiggle and bulging/stretching of Maya Muscle but works real-time so you can scrub, tweak and visualize the effects of the muscles on a frame-by-frame basis instead of needing to cache the muscles or 'play' the timeline. Let me show you how they work.
